Film Photography in the Digital Age

Thinking about getting into film photography. Is it worth it in 2025? Looking at a Pentax K1000 to start. Would love advice on film stocks, developing options, and whether to develop at home or use a lab.

Film is definitely worth it! The K1000 is a great starter camera. For film, start with Kodak Portra 400 for color and Ilford HP5 for B&W. Most cities still have good labs, but developing B&W at home is rewarding and not too difficult.

Consider the cost of film and developing before diving in. Prices have gone up significantly. That said, shooting film makes you think more about each shot, which improves your photography overall.
